Collectable Pez come without any candy unless they are in their original packaging . 

Pez were first created way back in 1927, in Vienna 

Putting character heads on them came about around 1955 . Mickey Mouse and Santa Claus were some of the first ones . ( there have been many variations of both of these throughout the years ). Over 1500 different ones have been created since then.
